The Artists

The Goodnight Moon - "Open Highway"
This song was found amongst countless demos left behind by Mike.  The vocal, guitar and all other random sounds are the original tracks as recorded by Mike on an 8-track home demo.  A fresh drum and bass track were recorded in December of 2010 to make this a final Goodnight Moon recording of sorts. (Mike McCombs - Guitar/Vocals) (James Lee - Bass) (Will Stout - Drums)

Jen McCombs - "Ghost Like Sun"
An unreleased demo found on one of Mike's 8 track recordings.  This rendition features Jen on guitar and vocals with a group of friends chiming in on a choir style background vocal.

The Hotshot Freight Train - "Out Of The Dark"
An unreleased song that seems like it was just made for The Hotshot Freight Train.  Straight forward rock song as performed by one of the best east Tennessee rock bands.  (Josh Tipton - Bass/Vocals) (Josh Hutson - Guitar) (Jason Chambers - Guitar/vocals) (Greg Barker - Guitar/vocals) (Zach Whitaker - Mandolin) (Caleb Tipton - Drums)

John Davis - "Destination Paradise"
An amazing song found on the album Since We Met.  The Goodnight Moon version features an appearance by John Davis playing the lead solo and singing back ground vocals.  The Superdrag frontman was a huge musical influence for Mike over the years and brings this song into the tribute playing everything from the opening bass riff to the last drum beat.

Josh Caterer - "Honey"
A previously unreleased and virtually unheard song covered by the frontman of The Smoking Popes/Duvall.  Also one of Mike's biggest musical influences, Josh brings to light an amazing love song found on one of Mike's home demo cassettes.

Goldsnake - "Helicopters and Ambulances"
Former Nashville local group Goldsnake cover a song that was originally featured on a self produced e.p.  Mike's background vocal was pulled from the original track and used on this rendition.  (Mike Gentry - Vocals/Guitar) (Jeremy Melton - Guitar/Vocals) (Will Stout - Drums)
Joe Dunlap - "The Nothing"
Ohio native and multi-instrumentalist Joe Dunlap lays down every note and every lyric to this classic Goodnight Moon track.  Hints of the original song can be heard throughout this rendition including some of Mike's vocal and noise tracks.

Standing Small - "Something Missing"
The guys from Standing Small are no strangers to Mike's music having shared the stage with him many times.  "Something Missing" was also amongst the many unheard demo's left behind by Mike.  (Ryan Fletcher - Guitar/Vocals) (Ben Howard - Keys/Vocals) (Corey Goins - Drums)
Rob Laliberte - "Sick Brain"
Rob is a local Knoxville TN singer songwriter and was a good friend of Mike.  Sick Brain was also originally released on a self produced E.P.  Rob puts a more haunting digital vibe in this rendition.

Jeremy Taylor and Melissa Podstawka - "Control"
This song was originally featured on Since We Met.  Jeremy and Melissa take this song to a waltz-like rendition with a duet vocal style that works perfectly. (Jeremy - guitar/vocals) (Melissa - Vocals)
Ben Howard - "Never Need Sleep"
Ben is a fellow musician/engineer who plays keys for Knoxville locals Standing Small.  Original recording can be found on the album Since We Met.  This rendition was performed and recorded by Ben with the exception of a lead guitar track that was pulled from the original Goodnight Moon recording.

 Will Stout - "Lusitania"
An unreleased demo clocking in at just under a minute.  Performed and recorded by the former drummer of The Goodnight moon.
Arthur Alligood - "Thank You"
A simple but powerful praise song as done by White House TN singer/songwriter Arthur Alligood.  This song was originally recorded for a demo album in 2004 under the name "The Paper Hearts".

DC Wilson - "The Least"
An unreleased demo recorded by the songwriter and front man for the Florida based group The Nine Volts.  The song was recorded and produced at his personal studio, The Oven Mitt.
