The Story

His friends called him gifted, genuine, a genius, and yes, a little goofy. Jen called him the love of her life. Allison and Ewan called him Dad. If you didn't know Michael Vincent McCombs, no words written here can adequately describe him. Mike was insanely talented as a musician and the kind of guy who would do anything to help out a neighbor or a stranger. Mike truly lived out the command of his Savior to love others. Those who spent time with Mike knew that a part of him was never present. His treasures were stored up in Heaven, and on February 28, 2010, the desires of his heart were fulfilled. The quirky, unpredictable Mike was outdoors playing with his children when tragedy struck. Mike fell to the pavement and never recovered from the head injury he sustained. A week after the accident, he saw the face of Jesus. The music of Mike McCombs was as avant garde as the man himself. From acoustic love songs about his children to a rock anthem about Heaven, it was Mike. From ghostly, electronically touched vocals to those pure pipes that never needed tuning, it was, reliably, Mike. This project is the creation of Mike's closest friends who wanted his music to live on, while providing support for those Mike left behind. Contributors to the project included his best friends; his former bandmates; his musical heroes; some strangers who were touched by his story; and his wife Jen. Many will say that Mike died before his time. This project will help his music live on. If you weren't fortunate to be influenced by his life, here's your chance to be influenced by his music.
